Here are some key points from customer reviews:

  • We went here on a weekday for a morning hike with our dogs. Definitely very dog-friendly. Incredible views of LA. There are two ways to get to the top and I would definitely recommend to do the paved way going to the top! Parking can be tricky. Definitely a good moderate hike ️
  • Do yourself a favor and climb this fantastic park in the heart of Hollywood. There are no cars, clean as a whistle and wide open space to view the entire LA basin, look at eye level to Griffith observatory east and turn toward Mulholland to scan the vast San Fernando valley and distant mountains that stretch forever on a clear day.
  • We hiked Runyon Canyon at 6:30am on a weekend, with the dogs and it is a real hike, a steep incline to the top – so it isn’t for the faint of heart. We did this in a fast pace with dogs that practically ran to the top, so after 2 miles up, we took off our winter gear and did the descent in t-shirts sweating, but this is a great spot to get in some exercise early in the morning and get the best views of LA. With all the rain LA has been experiencing, the place is lush, and the views were clear, so we got some great pictures. The hike down is fast and fun, and you feel accomplished for the day. Don’t miss this place when you are in LA.
  • What a great way to start the morning with a 3 mile hike with some stunning views. Runyon is dog friendly so there are always lots of four legged friends walking past and greeting you, we saw a few celebrities still past too. Highly recommend going around 7am before it gets too hot and too busy.
